MyKitchenRadar is a family kitchen app for iPhone, iPad and Mac. It tells you how many days each food at home will last, like "rice: about 6–11 days", and reminds everyone before it runs out. It is not released yet. The core app is free with no ads, and there will be one optional Family plan.
What it does
What is MyKitchenRadar?
A family kitchen app for iPhone, iPad and Mac. It tells you how many days each food at home will last, like rice: about 6–11 days, and reminds everyone before it runs out.
How is it different from a shopping list app?
A shopping list app remembers what you type. MyKitchenRadar counts down what you have, so items can reach the buy list before they run out. It also suggests what to cook from what is at home.
Can it tell me what to cook today?
Yes. It suggests 3–5 dishes from what is in stock today, in your family's cuisine. You can also ask for a recipe, send the menu to the cook, and plan lunchboxes, the week and leftovers.
How the countdown works
How does the app guess how long food will last?
It starts from typical daily use for your food culture, times your family's size and ages. A Tamil city family of 4 with 10 kg of rice starts at about 10–16 days. Your answers then show it how your family really eats.
Why does it show a range instead of a date?
Nobody eats the same amount every day, so an exact date would be false. The range narrows as the app learns.
Example: a Tamil city family of four opens a 10 kg bag of rice. The first guess is about 10–16 days. On day 10, Dad taps Half, and the countdown becomes about 6–11 days.
Do I have to weigh food or record everything we use?
No. Now and then the app asks how much is left, and you tap Full, Half, Low or Out. You can type an exact amount if you know it.
What do red, amber and green mean?
Red means today or 1 day. Amber means 2–6 days. Green means 7 days or more. Each item also says it in words, so color is never the only signal.
Does it handle milk, curd and vegetables that spoil?
Yes. Perishables such as milk, curd, greens and tomato also get a freshness clock and a Use first tag. Spices and snacks show when you last bought them.
Family and sharing
Can the whole family share one kitchen?
Yes. An invite link puts the same kitchen on every phone in the family. Everyone sees the same countdown and buy list, with the name of whoever added each item.
How do order links work?
Tap a shop on the buy list and the item opens, already searched, in that shop's app. In India the shops are Blinkit, Zepto, Instamart, BigBasket and Amazon. In the US they are Instacart and Amazon.
Platforms and languages
Which devices does it run on?
iPhone, iPad and Mac, as one app, in light and dark mode and at the largest text sizes. Android comes after the iPhone, iPad and Mac release.
Which languages and cuisines does it support?
17 languages: English, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Bengali, Gujarati, Punjabi, Spanish, French, Arabic, Thai, Chinese, Portuguese and Swahili. It has 41 cuisines, and a family can pick more than one.
Price and privacy
Is it free?
The core app is free and has no ads. There will be one optional Family plan, and its price is not decided yet.
What happens to my data?
The countdown and reminders run on your phone and work offline. Family sharing needs sign-in and SyntyAxis's server, because one kitchen has to reach every family phone. Ask the app and recipes written in your language also use that server. A privacy policy covering every feature will be published before release.
Release
When will MyKitchenRadar be released?
There is no release date yet. iPhone, iPad and Mac come first, then Android. When it is out, the buttons on this site will open the stores.
